Butte College baseball signing class has two players going D-I, two D-II

BUTTE VALLEY — In nearly every sport, the game rewards the grind. In athletics at the junior college level, many players must have this mindset with the goal of leaving for a four-year school. Thursday four Butte College baseball players began the signing class for the Roadrunners' 2023 class, a class that is likely to be significant with 21 of the 27 players on the Golden Valley Conference champion roster being sophomores. On Tuesday pitchers Bryson Reif and Carson Seeman signed their letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Division I University of Southern Indiana, outfielder Ryan McCarthy signed his letter of intent to play at Division II University of Central Washington and pitcher Caleb Shaeffer signed his letter of intent to play at Division II California State University, East Bay.
